Celebrate Our Children

Readings from the Scriptures (NRSV) Luke 18
People were bringing even infants to him that he might bless
them; and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them
not to do it. But Jesus called for them and said, “Let the little
children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as
these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you,
whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child
will never enter it.”

  1. What an absolutely delightful service! I loved everything about it. The story book was perfect (and will be added to my growing collection of children’s books this week!). And where do I cast my vote for that young president? He’s brilliant!! Heartfelt thanks to all of our Sunday School teachers and nursery caregivers. Thank you Norma and Jan for your many years of faithful service and caring. Our church has been truly blessed.

  2. First of all, we agree with everything Teresa says. It was excellent. Thanks to Nahum and Sam for being part of it today. Loved Nahum’s shirt!!!!
Great music for everyone young and old. In recent weeks we have been Going Down to the River to Pray then Marching in the Light of God now this week I suspect we will be Teaching the World to Sing and tapping our tootsies to This Little Light of Mine. Thank you Chris. God Bless.

  3. Thank you Rev Chris for another wonderful very special service. Thanks to Nahum and Sam too as well as Nancy for her comments as the chair of CE. Also the music selected was awesome. We owe much gratitude to our Sunday School teachers and those who care for the little ones in our nursery. And a huge thank you to Norma for her 10 years supporting CE and developing our library into the wonderful resource it has become along with the many other activities she has supported including our Cookie Walk. And a very big thanks to Jan who put many years into developing the wonderful SS programme for the younger children…a real inspiration. We as a congregation are truly blessed. And maybe that young boy could be president some day! Wouldn’t that be a positive change in our world!
