The need is great, and as a result the M & O Committee of SJRUC will be organizing its 2nd fundraiser in 2023 for the Waterloo Regional Food Bank.
Nonperishable food items and monetary donations will be collected at SJR from
Sunday, Sept. 17th until Thursday evening Oct. 19th . A pickup truck will be in the church parking lot from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on October 19th to collect nonperishable food items for delivery to the Food Bank the next day.
Our goal for this fundraiser is to collect at least 400lb of nonperishable food items, plus monetary donations of at least $1,200.
A table will be set up in the reception area near the church office to collect your donated food items. Financial donations can be delivered to the office or placed on the offering plate on Sundays until October 15th . Please make sure your donation is in an envelope with your name/envelope number. Cheques should be made payable to St. James’-Rosemout UC, with “Food Bank” clearly noted on the memo line of the cheque.

High Need items:
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Canned meats and fish
- Dry beans and pasta
- Hot and cold cereal
- Individually packed snacks (granola bars, apple sauce, pudding cups)
- Jam/fruit spread
- Pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
While food is a top priority, the Food Bank will accept unopened bags of pet food and non-food items such as personal care, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
