SJR’s Caring Bins

On a year-round basis, we collect a number of items that are used for various outreach ministries. Following is the list of items we currently collect:

Used Eyeglasses & Cases
Used Postage Stamps: Sent to the Leprosy Mission. They are sold to stamp dealers. Monies are used to further their work. There is an active Leprosy Mission Canada Auxilliary in Kitchener-Waterloo.
Tabs from Pop Cans: Sent to the Royal Canadian Legion in Elora.
Pennies for Mission and Service.
Used Greeting Cards
Empty Ink Cartridges
Canadian Food for Children:
Depot on Guelph St. in Kitchener where they are packaged and sent to Toronto, then sent overseas to Third World countries.

Canadian Food for Children – Short List of Needs:

Adult, Children, and Baby Clothes
Soap
Bedding & Towels
School Supplies:  Paper, binders, pens, pencils, crayons, pencil crayons, notebooks, sharpeners, rulers, scissors, elastics, chalk, paperclips, pencil cases, knapsacks, sports equipment 
Sewing Supplies:  Fabric, knitting & sewing supplies: scissors, thread, needles, etc.

The Caring Bins are located in the coat room at the back of the narthex.
