Our choir has started a Choral Scholar program here at SJR using funds given to the choir by the estate of Susan Cressman.  Susan and her deceased husband Bob were both avid supporters of our music program.  The Choral Scholar program encourages young musicians to pursue their careers in music.  It allows a student to join in the choir and share their talents and musical leadership skills

We welcome Nicole Ferreira as our first choral scholar. Nikki is a singer, musical theatre performer, and classical guitarist with 10+ years of music experience. She is currently studying voice under James McLean at Laurier, working towards a double major in Performance and Music Education. This past summer, she was a vocal coach for Gros Morne Summer Music’s professional performers in Corner Brook, Newfoundland; she also teaches voice, guitar, and ukulele at Russell Music Teaching Studios right here in Kitchener.
