Time: 6:00 pm
Celebrated by Jewish people for over 3000 years, the sederprovides an opportunity for Christians to share in a meal similar to the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples. The word “seder” means order; foods are eaten in an orderly manor as participants hear a re-telling of the story of the Israelites redemption from bondage. It recalls the dramatic and miraculous events that led to their exodus from Egypt. The evening concludes with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper to remember the price Jesus paid for our freedom from the bondage of sin and death.

World Day of Prayer

We will join our neighbours in celebrating the WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2012 on FRIDAY, MARCH 2nd at First Mennonite Church, 800 KIng Street East at 1:30 pm. The service has been written by the women of Malaysia. The theme is “Let Justice Prevail”. The guest speaker is Pastor Catherine Hunsberger. World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together the first Friday of March to observe a common day of prayer each year. All are welcome to this Service.

Christmas Eve Musical

Hello to our Sunday School Friends!

I know it sounds early and you are probably thinking about how you are going to dress up for Halloween but I’d like to talk about Christmas!

This year we are planning a fun musical for the family Christmas Eve Service at 7:00pm called Aaron the Allergic Shepherd. We would love to have as many of you take part as possible.

We will start practicing October 23 – as there will only be nine more Sundays before Christmas! We are asking you to join us at Sunday School each Sunday morning if you would like to be part of this exciting production! We’ll take a short time each week before our lesson to practice with Margaret Shoesmith who has offered to help us.
Additional practices will be Sunday, Dec. 18 from Noon to 2 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 23 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
It’s going to be LOTS of FUN!!
